LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference 2021 Successfully Concluded in Shenzhen
2021-9-29
The three-day LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference 2021 (LMN 2021) was successfully concluded on September 29 in Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center (Bao’an New Hall). Under the theme of “Intelligent Laser Manufacturing to Light up the Future”, LMN 2021 attracted wide attention from domestic and overseas colleagues in the laser industry. More than 1,000 audiences attended the plenary session and three parallel forums with a focus on the laser market worth of hundreds of billions.
As an important component to South China International Industry Fair 2021 (SCIIF), LMN 2021 was co-staged with the 10th World Industrial Development Forum and ELEXCON in a bid to create more added values for participants.
On the first day, the plenary session was presided over by Prof. You Wang, Researcher of Northern Laser Research Institute and National Distinguished Expert. Mr. Baocheng Yuan, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee; Prof. Gérard Mourou, Nobel Laureate 2018; Prof. Dianyuan Fan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Prof. Connie Chang-Hasnain, Member of US National Academy of Engineering; Prof. Qifeng Yu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Prof. Yury Kulchin, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences; Mrs. Yihuan Wu, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Shenzhen Municipal Committee; and representatives of domestic and overseas businesses, research institutes and universities, elites in the laser industry as well as media partners attended the event online or offline.
Future of Laser Market Worth of Expectation
Shenzhen is the center in the industrial cluster of laser for the Pearl River Delta. It is also where many famous companies such as Han’s Laser, Sunshine, United Winners, Max and JPT are located and the application of laser touches a wide range of fields. As for the market-based operation, Shenzhen has unmatchable advantages.
The organizer of LMN said that laser industry would be the focus of the future market. Even though its market scale is not quite big today, everyone is looking forward to its future with expectation. In addition, the current national policies encourage and support the application of laser technology in manufacturing. After all, it is on laser technology that many pillar industries including smart manufacturing, aerospace science, bio-medicine and material structure are based.
According to Mrs. Yihuan Wu at the event, laser industry in Shenzhen entered the second golden decade thanks to improving industrial chain of laser, progress in industrial cluster and advancement of high-tech.
Against this background, LMN which is rooted in Shenzhen will continue playing its core advantages, driving the market by application and supporting quality development of laser industry.
Bigwigs Exploring the Orientation for Industrial Development
LMN 2021 compared with the last session is more international and professional. More than 50 speakers in photoelectricity including Prof. Connie Chang-Hasnain, member of the US National Academy of Engineering; Prof. Yury Kulchin, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences; Prof. Stefan Kaierle, Executive Director of Laser Zentrum Hannover, Germany; Prof. Beat Neuenschwander, one of the Initiators of SWISSPHOTONICS; Prof. Katsuhiro Ishii, Director of the Optical Society of Japan; and Prof. Jianhua Yao, Institute of Advanced Laser Manufacturing of Zhejiang University of Technology shared opinions on VCSEL, additive manufacturing, composite manufacturing, laser welding, efficient semiconductor processing, super-fast solid laser device, the direction for research on photonics and other hot topics, bringing to the attendees a high-level feast of knowledge with respect to laser.
In a report about the direction for laser research and future development delivered by Prof. Jianhua Yao from Institute of Advanced Laser Manufacturing of Zhejiang University of Technology, fundamental researches should deeply cut across macro and micro perspectives down to nanoscale and cross-over studies shall be carried out in physics, chemistry and biological effects, whereas on the technical front, it should be more agile, customized, greener and smarter for the general purpose and provide better services. In a speech made by Prof. Stefan Kaierle, Executive Director of Laser Zentrum Hannover, he shared insights on how to manufacture the next generation of optical devices, for example, using 3D printing to manufacture a whole set of optical laser and system; applying laser as a multi-functional tool to reduce the use of herbicide; and resorting to photonics to explore the space, establishing villages on the moon or searching for life on Mars eventually.
Even though foreign guest speakers invited to LMN 2021 had to deliver speeches online, the atmosphere on site was very lively. Every speech was followed by the attendees engaging in virtual and heated discussions with the speaker over details in report hereof and all participants said to have learned a lot. After the event, the attendees unanimously claimed that report contents were very classic and forward-looking. They appreciated organizers for such a valuable opportunity to attend lectures made by laser masters of the world.
A Big Platform for the Laser Industry Constructed by LFSZ Concomitantly
The concomitant brand exhibition to LMN is LASERFAIR SHENZHEN (LFSZ) which has become a very influential laser and photoelectric show in South China. At LFSZ 2021, more than 170 well-known domestic and foreign laser companies including Han's Laser, Raycus, Max, Deratech, Bodor, Strong Laser, Jiatai, Hymson, United Winners, Reci, BWT, JCZ, Inno, Everbright Photonics, Han's Scanner, Sunshine, Gweike, Tianhong, Lead Laser, XQL, Yinhu, GZ Photonics, GW Laser, ZongJiu Daguang, Anewbest, Tete Laser, Hero Laser, Raybow Laser, Teyu, PuHua, Caihuang, Zhikaijie, KBF, Optoman demonstrated the application and laser products related to automobile, 3C electronics, integrated circuits, semi-conductors, communication, medical treatment and energy from multiple aspects.
It is worth mentioning that a new cluster-based exhibition area for precision processing and industrial Internet is added to present more scenarios where laser technology is integrated into intelligent manufacturing. On the site, Space Holding Group dismantled Tesla Model 3 to show that unmanned vehicle is the top mobile smart hardware on the ground. It aimed to help partners from the supply chain better understand the integrated application of AI, block chain, cloud computing, big data and 5G. Exciting presentations drew many supporters and fans. The grand platform for laser industry built as a result of forums and the show in parallel gives the audience an authentic one-stop experience combining trade, exchange and learning from each other. Audience to the show together with exhibitors, amounting to tens of thousands, formed an effective supply and demand market.
Representing the Laser Manufacturing Network, LMN is committed to building an interconnected platform for everyone in laser industry globally on which key figures and resources are connected so that sparks of wisdom could be triggered. LMN 2022 will be held in Shenzhen from June 7-9, 2022. Please log in to the official website www.world-laserconference.com or follow LMN via its WeChat official account to enjoy the replay.
